Ingredients

  • ½ kg kunafa/filo dough, shredded
  • ½ cup butter, melted

For the filling:

  • Mozzarella cheese Cream
  • For garnish: Pistachio, chopped
  • Simple syrup (1 ¾ cups white sugar + 1 cup water)

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Mix Knafeh dough with the butter.
  • Grease cupcake pan lightly with butter.
  • Place half of the knafeh mixture in each cup of the pan and press it with your fingers (or with a cup) to cover the bottom and sides of pan.
  • Distribute the filling in each knafeh cup. Layer the mozzarella first then a layer of cream
  • Place the cupcake pan in the oven for about 17-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove pan from the oven and flip it down on a serving dish.
  • Distribute syrup on knafeh and garnish with chopped pistachios
