Millions of employees across the world breathed a sigh of relief when they were told to work from home during the Coronavirus lockdown. It meant they could sleep in for longer, they could work in their PJ’s, and, more importantly, they could avoid physically being around some of their least favourite peeps from the office

British TV mockumentary “The Office'' could not have been more accurate in the way it represented office culture - admit it, you could totally relate to at least one character from that show! And just like the popular sitcom, we bet you, too, could easily point out the different personality types in your workplace.

No matter what industry you’re in or which country you’re operating from, you will time and again run into a few recurring personality types who will either quickly become your bestie, your arch-enemy or just a friendly face you say hello to five days a week.

Here they are - let us know who you won’t ever share your lunch with.

The Overpaid One

This person is probably the most-hated employee in any company. Their work schedule usually consists of telling their team to do the tasks that they’re supposed to be doing themselves, while they sit around drinking coffee and chatting away on their phones. We have two words for them: GO HOME!

The Skiver

Here’s another annoying personality type! This one is as bad as the Overpaid type as they always manage to disappear when there’s work to be done. You'll usually find them in the canteen or out for their umpteenth cigarette break of the day.

Role Unknown

There is always always always one person who roams around the office looking like they’re doing something, except you never know what they’re actually doing and they never tell you what their job description is. They’re on the payroll, that’s for sure, but can someone please get us their HR file because we just NEED TO KNOW.

The Office Clown

Those guys are fun to hang out with during our lunch break and whenever we’re procrastinating. They’re usually bursting with energy - even if their shift starts at 7 in the morning - and are the ones who make boring meetings more bearable. Although they’re guaranteed to put a smile on our faces, they can get a little too loud and distracting when you’re trying to hand in that paperwork before 5 pm.

The Fashionista/o

This person always turns up at 9 am as though they were going for a Vogue photoshoot, but hey, who said we shouldn’t dress up to work anymore? While most like to befriend them, they’re often the envy of their colleagues. At the end of the day, they’re harmless creatures who like to look good to feel good.

The Crossfit Dude

You’ll know whether your co-worker is into Crossfit because they’ll make sure to tell you that they’re into Crossfit (at any given chance). The whole Crossfit fad feels like a cult to us but when you need someone to carry that heavy box over to the kitchen, well, you know who you’re going to call!

The Useless One

You send an email out to this person detailing exactly what they need to do. They come back to you asking what exactly they need to do. You send a voice note repeating everything you wrote out in your email. They send at least five more voice notes trying to understand what it is you want. Who is the problem here?

The Boss’s Pet

Ohh, how those types get under our skin. You can never really trust those guys because they are the messenger of everything that takes place around the office. If you say something positive, your boss won’t know about it, but God forbid that you complain about the ink running out from the printer and somehow you’ll never hear the end of it.
