Ingredients

  • 500 gm chickpeas cooked
  • 3 large corn tortillas, cut into bite-sized squares and fried
  • 1Tbsp cumin, divided
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 cups yogurt
  • 1 cup creamy hummus
  • ½ ripe avocado
  • 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic mashed
  • 1 Tsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp. olive oil
  • Pine nuts
  • Paprika to garnish

Method

  • Bring the chickpeas to boil a little, meanwhile fry your tortillas.
  • Place the fried tortillas in a large and deep serving dish, add 1.5 cups of cooked chickpeas along with some chickpeas broth to moist the bread but without making it soggy, add some pinches of salt and cumin.

For the sauce:

  • Whisk together the tahini, yogurt, hummus, avocado, lemon juice, garlic, salt, cumin, and ½ cup chickpeas broth.
  • Pour the yogurt sauce over the chickpeas bread dish.
  • Garnish with fried pine nuts, chickpeas and paprika.
  • Fattet Hummus is typically served as breakfast, mostly on Fridays’ breakfast, also served as a side dish in occasional dinners.
