Ingredients
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced (washed and patted dry) 1/4 cup cornstarch 2 tablespoons sunflower oil 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger 2 teaspoons diced white onion Sesame seeds, for topping 2 scallions, sliced, for topping
Method

- In saucepan on medium heat, add oil. In a bowl, add cornstarch and meat, cover meat and then carefully add meat into pan. Cook until each side is crispy. Place meat on a paper towel lined plate to drain oil.
- Rinse and dry pan and place back on medium heat on the stove. Add the onion, garlic and ginger. Add soy sauce and sugar, mix well. Allow to cook for 5 minutes to thicken, then carefully add meat, mix well and allow to cook on low for 5 minutes.
- Place each helping in a bowl with rice (I like calrose) and meat, then sprinkle the top with scallions and sesame seeds.
