Hello I have a 6 years old daughter who needs me in the room to fall asleep is this normal what should I do to let her sleep on her own

Yes it is normal,  it helps her soothe to sleep, it will become a habit if it is prolonged and will wake up multiple times at night calling for you to stay in her room until she goes back to sleep. There is no need to worry she is still young she can start sleeping on her own. You need to put her in her bed then leave the room if she cries go back in and help her calm down by patting it picking her up. once she is calm put her back in stop putting and leave the room repeat as many times as it takes for her to give up and go to sleep,  this will take three to four nights of consistently doing that without letting her sleep while u r in the room and she will break out of the habit. She will test you a couple of nights in the next month if u stand your ground she will keep soothing herself.  s
