Makeup can be incredibly fun to play around with… when you have the time.

Most days don’t call for a full face of makeup with the perfectly blended eyeshadow, bold lipstick or contoured face, instead, a quick and easy look is the usual go-to, and nothing beats a natural look.

A no-makeup makeup look is timeless, classic and fresh, but how much effort does it really take to look effortless? What does this style entail? And what do you need to pull it off?

Here are the quick and easy steps that will have you cover your bases and still be out the door (looking fresh) in just ten minutes:

Face

First and foremost, skincare is your best friend in terms of natural beauty. Maintaining healthy and moisturized skin through an appropriate skincare regime will help provide you with a good base for your makeup. Use cleansers regularly, moisturize often and remember to use sunscreen.

After a good skincare routine, you will only need small dabs of concealer for any occasional spots or darker areas you might want to cover, like under the eyes or around the nose.

Meanwhile, blush can be underestimated in what a difference it can make to your face. The goal from wearing makeup is to make you look more alive and adding colour to your cheeks will give your face youthfulness and verve. Cream blushes, in particular, can achieve a dewy, natural effect.

And if you are feeling fancy, bits of highlighter on the cheekbones and the tip of the nose will add a nice glow to make you look livelier. And, again, cream products are easy to use and aid in achieving a natural look.

Eyebrows

For a natural look, a little grooming is all you need. If necessary, brush them out with a spoolie and fill them in with the eyebrow product of your preference. Afterwards, brush them out again with a clear eyebrow gel to keep them in place.

Eyes

Following the same principle as the face, any makeup added to the eye area is to make you look more alive. Curling your eyelashes is often a forgotten step, but it is an effective one that makes a huge difference in brightening up your look.

Mascara is a staple, so go for a lengthening mascara or a volumizing one, depending on your preference. Or if that feels like too much for you, use a clear mascara to separate and curl your eyelashes.

And on days when you have a bit more energy or time, a small eyeliner wing will help lift the eyes.

Lips

Finally, the easiest part.

There are stages to this depending on how you’re feeling that day. A tinted lip balm is your best option, giving you both colour and moisture, however, a simple and practical hack would be to dab cream blusher on your lips or a natural shade of pink.

Ten minutes later and you’re good to go, looking natural and fresh as ever.
