Arabic Pasta with Meat and Yoghurt

Ingredients

  • 1 bag pasta 500 gm (fusilli)

  • ½ Kg ground beef

  • 1Kg Yoghurt

  • 4 cloves garlic mashed in a mortar with salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom

  • ½ tsp cinnamon Salt and pepper

  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

  • 1 cube vegetable stock (optional)

  • Chopped coriander (or parsley)

  • Pine nuts

Method

  • Fry the meat in 2 tbsp vegetable oil until soft, season with ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp ground cardamom, salt and pepper. Cook the meat 7 to 10 minutes. Set aside.

  • Meanwhile, cook the pasta in water till tender, strain from water,

  • Once the pasta is cooked and hot, mix it with the stock cube for taste and let it cool. (You can skip this ingredient if you don’t like to use it).

  • Whisk the yoghurt with the mashed garlic and salt until creamy and smooth.

  • In a large bowl, mix the pasta with the yoghurt. Pour the mixture into your serving dish.

  • Garnish with the meat, pine nuts and chopped coriander.

  • Serve immediately upon assembling it.
