Asparagus Salsa Pasta

Ingredients

Asparagus spears ( I had a bag of frozen asparagus in the freezer) Brown Rice Pasta Store bought salsa sea salt and black pepper 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp ginger paprika oregano

Method

Asparagus: I followed the cooking instructions on the bag

  1. Bring water to a boil in a pan on high heat
  2. Add the asparagus in the boiling water and cover with a lid then TURN OFF the heat and let it steam for 3-4 minutes until the asparagus is soft
  3. Drain the water
  4. add pepper, paprika and oregano on the asparagus and mix until asparagus is coated with the spices( i didn't measure here. Use your desired amount)

Pasta:

  1. Bring water to a boil in a pot on high heat, once the water is boiling add a generous amount of sea salt (about 3 tablespoons)
  2. add the pasta (use to how many mouths you need to feed ;)  I used the whole box)
  3. Add the turmeric and ginger, stir until spices are combined.
  4. Let cook for about 10 minutes or until pasta is soft(brown rice pasta takes longer to cook)
