Reading time is very important for our family. But when I read to my two children together aged (5 years and 2 year), it leads to them fighting! since they dont like the same books, any ideas on how to make this time more pleasant?

This is a great questions as we rarely think about what it takes to read aloud for varying ages at the me time. Here are couple of things you can try to make reading aloud more peaceful. 1) If your older sibling can read, or has a few favourites she's learned the text of, let her "read" to her younger sibling. Not only will this help her build her confidence in her abilities, but will also provide the two of them with quality bonding time2) allow each child to choose a book, then take turns reading them. aloud. You can vary who goes first to keep them from arguing over the order the books are read in3) Allow one child some quiet play time while you read to the other. They can color, play with stickers, building blocks, play dough, etc...4) Choose a book that invites some joint physical activity that they can both participate in. Eric Carle's From Head to Toe is a fun book that both might enjoy. "What is Jad Doing" is another one
