Nausea and vomiting is a common complaint in the first pregnancy. The good news is the most pregnant women’s symptoms start improving after the third month. U can do few things to help 1- Instead of having 3 meals a day try to have more frequent snacks. When you start eating start always with something solid before liquids. 2- Avoid food that make you feel nauseated. These vary depending on the pregnant women 3- Vitamin B6 can reduce the symptoms 4- Antiemtic (Anti nausea) medicine are safe in pregnancy and do help 5- Strong anti emtics given to cancer patient are a second line treatment that are used when the usual ante emitics don’t help. 6- High dose steroids are used as a third line treatment if symptoms persist despite diet change and ante emtic medicine. 7- Hospitalization and intra venous rehydration might be required in severe cases. The most important thing is to avoid dehydration which isn’t good for you or you baby.
